The COVID-19 pandemic caused mental health effects and it is necessary to study how to deal with them. Objective: to explain resilience from family coping and work-family balance in Latin America. Method: cross-sectional, quantitative, explanatory study, with 8043 participants, from seven countries. Family Crisis Oriented Personal Evaluation Scales (F-COPES), the Wagnild and Young resilience scale and the work-personal life questionnaire were applied. Results: Restructuring and passive evaluation contributed the most to explaining resilience in all countries. The country with the highest average was Chile and the lowest was Peru. Problem-focused coping strategies are positively related to resilience. It is suggested to include restructuring and ways to achieve social support, such as coping strategies, in the design of public health and social welfare interventions aimed at generating family resilience.
