People with the condition of not being able to speak are a little difficult to understand since their way of expressing themselves is through their hands. We can use this condition to our advantage, using software to capture each letter that we want to translate. In this way, people with a dactylological language do not feel excluded from society in one way or another. The absence of devices or software that can translate sign language is scarce in Colombia. The main objective of this article is to identify what are the trends in research in this area and identify advances to help people who cannot speak or hear with the help of modern technology. A solution is proposed with a first version of a software oriented to hearing impaired people. The software contains multiple tools which will help the communication process with people with hearing and speech disabilities.
