This instrumental study investigated the reliability and internal structure of the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Questionnaire (AUDIT) in 600 Colombian men aged between 18 and 65 years. Cronbach's alpha and McDonald's omega were calculated as internal consistency coefficients, and dimensionality was tested by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The internal consistency was between 0.70 and 0.90, and the CFA showed a three-dimensional structure (consumption, dependency, and related consequences) with excellent goodness-of-fit indicators (ꭓ2/gl=1.65, CFI = 1.0, TLI = 1.0, RMSEA = 0.03). In Colombian men, the AUDIT questionnaire shows high internal consistency and three-dimensional structure. It is necessary to establish the best cut-off point for this population by comparison with a structured clinical interview.
