Integrating remote sensing technology into the agricultural sector offers opportunities to monitor crops, provide valuable information for decision-making, increase yields, and reduce costs and negative environmental impacts. These technologies are related to technology platforms that generate innovative proposals for the agricultural sector. The combination of the concept of a technological platform that includes the use of remote sensing techniques for the agricultural sector in which the actors work together and in a coordinated manner to achieve advances linked to common objectives, requires, in addition to knowing the needs of the actors, understanding the concept of the technological platform itself and defining its potential functionalities. For this reason, this article seeks to set up the functionalities of a remote sensing platform applied to agriculture that better satisfies the needs of the actors involved. To this end, a systematic literature search is carried out to identify the functionalities of a technological platform. Subsequently, case studies in the Colombian context were analysed to identify the needs of the players associated with the platform.
