Energy communities (ECs) play an important role in modern energy systems. ECs empower users and facilitate the inclusion of distributed generation, electric vehicles, storage systems, and demand response programs. To know the interoperability of the technologies to be used in the EC with the different areas of the electricity production chain and the actors involved, 5 models of EC for Colombia are proposed with their respective Smart Grid Architecture Model (SGAM) diagram. Furthermore, a series of different gaps that must be considered for the correct development of ECs in the country are identified.
