The Guy Debord's experimental film In girum imus nocte et consumimur igni is an autobiographical story of his youth and mature life.In this paper is studied the relation between his life experiences and his cinematographic work, based on the contributions from Paul Ricoeur, Wilhelm Dilthey and Reinhart Koselleck who explain the relevance of the autobiographic story in the comprehension of life and his impact in the historic and social context.Also, we examine the artistic form of Debord´s cinema influenced by the Lettrism and the Situationist, movements in which he participated; from them Debord took resources like the dissenting montage, the black and the white screen and the détournement.In girum shows the values, the purposes, and the meaning of Debord´s life, as well as his strength to undertake the revolutionary fight, with the company of his friends, that reach its peak in May 68.
