Summary This article aims to evaluate case study conditions in a Colombian field, for the implementation of CO2 injection to increase the recovery factor in heavy oil reservoir, taking into account parameters for evaluation, in addition to making theoretical comparisons according to analytical methods proposed by different authors, in order to demonstrate an increase in the recovery factor. The analytical models used in the evaluation are to determine the minimum miscibility pressure proposed by Holm and Joseldan, Yelling W.F, Metcalfe R.S, Holm and Jolseldan corrected by Mungan and IRP correction. A description and comparison of each model is provided. The methodological development allowed to conclude the feasibility of CO2 injection in the studied field, from the results obtained, it is concluded with the construction of a simplified analytical model of the minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) to determine the miscibility displacement of the reservoir during CO2 injection, in relation to the theoretical analytical methods.
