The objective of this research was to review the environment of web portals for the exchange of relevant information of commercial establishments in the city of Ibagué. With the application of an exploratory and analytical study, a literature review was carried out to show how the evolution of the web facilitated the development of the sharing economy model, a model to which the platforms had to adapt, thus giving rise to web portals that act as intermediaries. Literature related to the sharing economy, mobile devices and cloud computing was collected and analyzed. Additionally, a number of local and international web portals were collected and explored using the BuildWith tool in order to inspect the technological profile. In the future, the objective is to develop and implement a specific application domain for commercial establishments in the city of Ibagué, in order to reach the sustainable development goal number 8, to contribute to decent work and economic growth.
