Recently, the challenges related to globalization, the internet of things, and the increase in quality standards have forced companies to implement models that allow them to guarantee operational excellence. This article presents an alternative to plan, evaluate, and monitor the actions necessary to ensure the process of excellence in a maintenance area. The study includes a detailed description of the activities to be carried out, the main decisions that must be taken, and the necessary measurement calculations to implement the proposed method. Additionally, a graphic tool called the map of excellence is presented, which allows identifying the current state of the process of interest on the path to excellence.
