Annually, the Colombian Institute for the Promotion of Higher Education conducts the Saber Pro exam, as a requirement for the student to obtain the degree in public and private higher education institutions in the country. Evaluates generic competencies in: written communication, quantitative reasoning, critical reading, citizen skills and English. Diversity of research has been carried out with the published information of the Saber Pro tests: socioeconomic and other indices, comparative analyses of particular types of programs in different universities of the country, different multivariate statistical analyses that compare careers, universities, regions, etc. In this study, the average scores of the programs of the University of Pamplona in these tests are characterized and collated. A descriptive analysis, a principal component analysis and an analysis of variance are carried out in order to characterize and evaluate both differences and similarities between the results of the careers and faculties of Unipamplona. The university’s programs exhibit certain strengths in quantitative reasoning, critical reading, and citizenship competencies. The main weakness is diagnosed in written communication and also in English. Foreign Languages, in English, obtained the highest average (202) of the Unipamplona in a module. The Faculty of Basic Sciences is the best performing and significantly different (p < 0.05) from the rest. The Faculty of Health is the second with the best average, while the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences together with that of Economic and Social Sciences are the ones that show the lowest averages of the University in the state exam. Among the programs with thehighest university averages are: medicine, chemistry, foreign languages and geology.
