The rain in Colombia is the main cause of flooding. In 2008, more than one million Colombians had their homes affected by rainwater draining difficulties through the existent sewerage systems, causing floods in the urban area. Zone 2 of Aqueduct and Sewerage Company of Bogota and Sewerage Management Unit 251 are located in the center east of the city. After the evaluation and diagnosis of the storm sewer system and its existing networks, this region was identified as an area of high vulnerability due to flooding risks. The risk must be analyzed and determined due to floods suffered by the population during the rainy season.
