Dear Editor, Dengue is an infectious disease that presents a high incidence in the tropical regions of the world, responsible of high mortality numbers, life quality reduction and economic costs in the endemic countries. Clinically, it can present heterogeneous manifestations, being able to affect several organs, including the heart. The research about the cardiovascular compromise in dengue has increased in the recent years, with myocarditis as one of the reported disorders. This complication is relevant due to its elevated frequency found in some studies [1], fatal cases reported [2], and descriptions presented in the current situation of Coronavirus disease 2019 and the vaccination process, being able to coexist with this infection [3]. The published papers reveal a relation between dengue severity and this cardiac illness [1]. It was conducted a literature search in PubMed, Scopus, Virtual Health Library, Scielo and Google Scholar using the terms ‘dengue’, ‘myocarditis’ and ‘cardiomyopathy’; that revealed the existence of an important number of articles about this cardiac complication.
