This work estimates the joint effect of the IoT and the levels of democracy on international corruption. For this, a database of 161 countries is used for the years 2010-2019, considering various sources of information for a set of variables supported by theory. The results indicate that the joint effect is important to combat corruption. Therefore, policies focused on increasing access to free information, social networks, and other factors associated with Internet access should be used as an effective strategy to reduce corruption in the countries studied.
