This article addresses the insertion of the Heritage Education approach in the public environmental management scope related to Federal Environmental Licensing. This is part of the Programa de Educação Ambiental da Bacia de Campos (PEA-BC), specifically the Territorios do Petróleo (PEA-TP) environmental education Project implemented by the Instituto Brasileiro de Meio Ambiente e Recursos Naturais Renováveis (Ibama).
