This paper analyzes and compares the regulatory framework applicable to existing crowdfunding platforms in the European Union, Spain and Latin America, with a focus on the countries of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Peru. The existence of a great heterogeneity in the degree of development of the regulatory framework and in the content of the regulations between the European Union and Latin America is concluded, which highlights the need for a harmonization of international regulatory frameworks in order to favor the expansion of this type of industry and the security of international investors.
