The objective of this project is to understand the social representations of the violence of the secondary students at the Ismael Santofimio Trujillo school in the city of Ibague; for this, we analyzed the scenarios that generate violence, the practices of violence, and how these incidences of violence influence their daily lives. The research was worked from a qualitative interpretative analysis based on ethnography and developed with interviews, observation and newspaper review. The participating population were students from grades 6 to 11 with an age range of between 10 and 18 years. The results were raised from three axes of analysis: The first part, entitled "Transformation from the most violent neighborhood to harmonious living'", deals with the contextualization of the territory and its relation to structural violence. The second axis called "We are violent, but it is normal", analyzes the conceptions and perceptions of violence of the students and, finally, the violent practices, axis was called "From the knife to the pen." These three categories help us to understand the facts that are presented at the school through daily practices and that go beyond legitimized or naturalized physical violence.
