Spanish Abstract: El campo interpretativo sobre la obra de Newton ha sido ampliamente discutido y, particularmente, el tema de las hipótesis no ha sido la excepción. El objetivo de este texto es mostrar que la filosofía natural de Newton pareciera, en principio, rechazar la hipótesis, pero en realidad no es opuesta a la formulación de estas, si diferenciamos a qué tipo de hipótesis se hace referencia. Así pues, se muestra, en primer lugar, cómo desarrolla Newton su filosofía natural, y cómo es contrapuesta a las hipótesis. Luego se muestra que bajo condiciones determinadas las hipótesis son aceptadas. Y, por consiguiente, se concluye que la filosofía de Newton no rechaza radicalmente las hipótesis, sino que, por el contrario, se puede valer de su formulación para el progreso de la investigación científica, dependiendo a qué tipo de hipótesis se haga referencia.English Abstract: The interpretative field on Newton’s work has been widely discussed and, particularly, the subject of hypotheses has not been the exception. The aim of this paper is to show that the natural philosophy of Newton seemed, in principle, to reject the hypothesis, but it is not opposed to the formulation of these if we distinguish what kind of hypothesis we mean. Thus, I will show, first, how Newton develops its natural philosophy, and how he opposed to the hypotheses. Then I will show that under certain conditions the hypotheses are accepted. And therefore, I conclude that the philosophy of Newton not radically rejects the hypothesis, but, on the contrary, he may use them for the scientific development, depending on what type of hypothesis is referred.
