This review article aims are to make a documentary record through different databases about studies on the importance given to theological formation in Catholic universities by the different members of the institutions. Throughout its history, the Catholic university has been guarantor of the tutelage of human dignity through the substantive functions of teaching, research, and social projection. Thus, it has ensured a Christian presence in the world, providing students with theoretical-conceptual elements that allow them to understand and address the problems of society and culture, as well as to renew them in the light of the gospel. In this constant search for truth, theological training courses aimed at students from different disciplines are involved, making it a challenge for professors and students who, although they have chosen to study at a Catholic university, have not chosen theology to be their base career.
