The IEEE World Engineering Education Conference (EDUNINE) is the place where researchers, professionals and students around the globe exchange their ideas and experiences around education in engineering and technology.For that reason, it was very important to continue organizing it in despite of the current circumstances.After two years of virtual editions, this year a smart distributed conference was proposed.I feel honored to have been invited as one of the local chairs, and to participate with colleagues from all Latin America, Spain and Portugal in organizing this great event, where we are going to focus on the challenges educators faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, finding the best way to adapt to the new normality, and how to improve engineering education based on the learned lessons.
