Spanish abstract: El presente trabajo, pretende examinar desde una metodología cualitativa, el marco jurídico que reviste al Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA) e identificar la influencia que dicho marco ejerce en el desarrollo de la iniciativa integradora. Para esto, propone un análisis híbrido del mercado, desde dos perspectivas interconectadas: La jurídica y la económica. En su desarrollo, esta investigación describe los motivos que respaldan el surgimiento de iniciativas de integración financiera y analiza las consecuencias (jurídicas y económicas) derivadas de estos procesos. Seguidamente, realiza un balance de eficiencia del MILA, determinando su impacto en el desarrollo y crecimiento económico regional. Por ultimo, estudia jurídicamente la conformación, estructura y operatividad del mercado integrado e identifica los desafíos regulatorios actuales que enfrenta la iniciativa de integración. English abstract: The present work aims to examine, from a qualitative methodology, the legal framework that covers the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA) and to identify the influence that this framework has on the development of the integration initiative. To this end, it proposes a hybrid analysis of the market, from two interconnected perspectives: the legal and the economic. In its development, this research describes the reasons that support the emergence of financial integration initiatives and analyzes the legal and economic consequences derived from these processes. Next, it makes a balance of efficiency of the MILA, determining its impact in the regional development and economic growth. Finally, it makes a legal study of the formation, structure and operation of the integrated market and identifies the current regulatory challenges that face the integration initiative.
