This research presents the results of bathymetric information analysis obtained during 2008 in a campaign conducted with the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos in two sectors of colombian Pacific. This information was used to characterize the submerged landforms located on the continental margin in the areas between Bahia Solano and Baudó Bay as well as between Tumaco and Bahia Ancon de Sardinas. The submerged landforms were described by the use of the Publication Bathymetric No 6 of the International Hydrographic Organization; however the review of existing information and analysis of the elevation model generated by CARIS program enabled a more detailed description based on geological and tectonic conditions of the area.Note that the definition of Publication B-6 of the International Hydrographic Organization is weak in terms of characterization and description of landforms, therefore it was necessary to review existing information for the definition and identification from the same. The analysis allowed the description of 6 submerged landforms from the area, which owes its relief to the intense tectonic activity of subduction zones that are present in the region. The submarine canyons are one of the most notorious features of the Tumaco area, the escarpments and alignment of their structures are directly related to the dynamic behavior of the area; as well as the deformation and deposition of sediment on the ocean bottom. Thus by this research were described the submerged landforms found based on the bathymetric information analysis and the bibliographic information available by the study area.
