This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To determine whether homocysteine lowering interventions in those with and without pre‐existing cardiovascular disease: (a) are effective for preventing cardiovascular events; (b) are safe for preventing cardiovascular events; (c) differ in efficacy or safety.
