This article analyzes two Argentine novels that dialogue with the events of the economic, political and cultural Crisis of December 2001 in Argentina: El grito (2004) by Florencia Abbate and La intemperie (2008) by Gabriela Massuh. This work focuses on how these texts narratively construct the social and the intimate, the public and the private, based on the figure of the catastrophe. In this sense, I propose to read these novels as a correlation between personal and collective catastrophe. Finally, I am interested in observing, in terms of writing, some political and formal differences that these novels present.
