Pain after Shoulder Prosthesis Is Not Always Due to Infection or Loosening Abstract. Summary: Suprascapular nerve neuropathy is becoming increasingly recognized as a reason for persistent shoulder pain. The underlying cause may be iatrogenic, as in the case of our patient, or due to ganglionic compression or traction. Unfortunately, diagnosis and thus adequate therapy is frequently delayed. With this case study, we would like to bring the neuropathy of the suprascapular nerve into focus for the general practice.Zusammenfassung. Die Neuropathie des Nervus suprascapularis wird zunehmend als Ursache für persistierende Schulterschmerzen erkannt. Die Ursache kann, wie im Fall unserer Patientin, iatrogen sein, aber ebenso primär durch Ganglien oder sekundär durch Zug. Häufig erfolgt die Diagnosestellung und somit adäquate Therapie verzögert. Mit diesem Fallbeispiel möchten wir gerne die Neuropathie des Nervus suprascapularis in den Fokus für die Praxis rücken.
