Spanish Abstract: Los repositorios institucionales son recopilaciones en formato digital que permiten almacenar, administrar, preservar y visualizar la producción intelectual de una comunidad académica universitaria o investigativa, permitiendo que la información esté a disposición de cualquier usuario a través del uso de las TIC.El presente proyecto asume el reto de proponer a dos instituciones de educación superior, el uso de repositorios institucionales por medio de un software libre como es el DSpace. La metodología aplicada para este caso es la de proyecto factible, la cual, por medio de un prototipo funcional, se demuestra los beneficios que ofrecen este tipo de tecnología en la preservación de la información.La investigación está bajo un diseño no experimental y transaccional con un nivel descriptivo y transaccional, ya que las observaciones a ejecutar, se harán en las dependencias donde se administran los trabajos de grado e investigaciones en las dos instituciones universitarias una sola vez y en un tiempo específico, de acuerdo a lo establecido con las fuentes primarias.El resultado, es el desarrollo de dos Repositorios Institucionales los cuales se espera que sean utilizados por el ITFIP y la Escuela Normal de Naucalpan de México.La conclusión a la que se llegó es que, las dos instituciones de educación superior no pueden seguir administrando los proyectos de grado e investigaciones como actualmente se está haciendo, ya que el deterioro de estos documentos ha empezado a presentarse, siendo un terrible problema para las instituciones, debido a que se está perdiendo valioso conocimiento desarrollado por el estudiantado y el cuerpo de docentes.English Abstract: Institutional repositories are compilations in digital format that allow the storage, administration, preservation and visualization of the intellectual production of an academic, university or research community, allowing the information to be available to any user through the use of ICT.This project takes on the challenge of proposing to two higher education institutions the use of institutional repositories through free software such as DSpace. The methodology applied for this case is the feasible project, which, through a functional prototype, demonstrates the benefits offered by this type of technology in preserving information.The research is under a non-experimental and transactional design with a descriptive and transactional level, since the observations to be carried out will be made in the dependencies where the degree work and research are administered in the two university institutions only once and in a time specific, according to what is established with the primary sources.The result is the development of two Institutional Repositories which are expected to be used by the ITFIP and the Escuela Normal de Naucalpan de México.The conclusion reached is that the two higher education institutions cannot continue to administer the degree projects and research as is currently being done, since the deterioration of these documents has begun to appear, being a terrible problem for the institutions, because valuable knowledge developed by the student body and the teaching staff is being lost.
