Data management on drinking water hourly consumption to determine tank storage volume has been a manual task involving a big amount of both, time and intellectual effort. Systems dynamics offered an opportunity for us to produce a model simulating storage and water consumption behavior reducing time and intellectual effort. Time reduction used for this task reached a value close to 80% and allowed to focus intellectual effort on considering the incorporation of additional elements to the model. The outcome results were a product of the contrast between a manual work with data from a particular example and the results obtained with the simulation of the dynamic systems model with the same data.
