This document elaborates a discussion about benefits of the new technologies in the street lighting systems, these technologies are image processing, IoT (Internet of Things) and also renewable energies. Furthermore, an investigation related to different articles that made an approaching to this subject, was done. Also, a proposal is done in order to the street lighting system benefit, considering some aspects of these technologies, this proposal was developed by the authors and applied in a study case road in another investigation.
