The General System of Social Security in Health mobilizes annually about 8% of gdp and covers with some sort of health insurance more than 80% of the population. This study addresses some aspects of economic and financial behaviour of key actors in this system, in order to identify economic stregths and weaknesses of the health sector in Colombia. For this purpose, in this document we combine macro and microeconomic analysis.
