In this paper, the performance of a Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) device as a pressure sensor was investigated. A simulation model was developed for the design stage with a basic description of the packaging using COMSOL Multiphysics® finite element method (FEM) based software. The sensor was fabricated using etching techniques on a ST Quartz piezoelectric substrate. The characterization of the device was carried out using a vector network analyzer (VNA) to measure the S <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf> parameter of the resonator. Changes in resonance frequency proportional to the applied external pressure were observed through a resonator test. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results. The sensitivity obtained for the SAW pressure sensor was 591.3 Hz/kPa.
