The main purpose of this article is to present the methodological process and the results of the research that led to establish the musical profile of the Colombian authors Alejandro Villalobos Arenas and the father Fray Juan de Jesus Anaya Prada. The investigation was based on the application of a methodological model that included as fundamental strategies the elaboration of chronologies and biographical sketches, also the characterization of works through inventories, musical analysis and transcription to musical notation. According to the particularities of each author, the model was adapted during the process to obtain the reconstruction of the musical trajectories, the inventories of the works found during the process, the characterization and analysis of the works as well as the transcription into musical notation of musical material from various sources.
