To encourage reading in eleventh grade students, through horror stories as a pedagogical mediation, it is necessary to take into account the tastes and preferences of the students; Horror stories were taken to promote the reading habit which is of great importance for the development of students in the school environment. Therefore, this project aimed to design promotional activities that contribute to strengthening the reading process of eleventh grade students through horror stories. Reading is a fundamental element in the cognitive and social processes of people where all reading is interpretation and what the reader is able to understand and learn is through reading. For the realization of this project, we worked with qualitative research, which showed in general terms the situation of the students before reading, for this reason it was necessary to promote this project where a series of workshops, didactic games, among others, were applied, reaching to observe an improvement in students compared to reading.
