The article presents the results of the project Comparative analysis of the intercultural processes of agricultural and mining territorial construction in Quinchía: Case studies of the Naranjal and Irra townships, carried out between 2016 and 2017 as part of the "Research Program: Quinchía" of the Sociocultural Studies and Environmental Problematic Research Line (IESPA).In the first place, the reader will find some aspects related to the permanence of cultural roots and practices, the implications of the social and armed conflict and the new developmental interests that justify asking ourselves about the possible lessons to be learned regarding the sustainable development of a municipality like Quinchía.Next, the theoretical-methodological framework that guided the research is exposed: the field theory and situational strategic planning, in dialogue with the concepts of environment, territory, territoriality, interculturality, territorial heritage, social space, capital, situation, environmental problematic and socioenvironmental conflicts.The results are structured in three sections that together offer an overview of the intercultural processes of agricultural and mining territorial construction in the municipality: (1) Characterization of the territorial heritage, (2) Evaluation of territorial environmental management strategies, (3) Explanation of the social space of the territorial configuration.Finally, some reflections and conclusions of this research are raised; and the continuity that has been given to it in order to claim a vision of the environment as a territorial heritage and a social right.
