Constipation, or constipation, as it is popularly known, is a disorder and can be defined when the frequency of defecation is less than three times a week. The aim of this article is to provide information about childhood intestinal constipation, more clearly and objectively, data on the number of children affected, indexes, but prevalent, classifications, being acute or chronic, and emphasizing physiotherapy as an effective and of great value of treatment. This is a qualitative study in which the method of literary review was chosen, through the Virtual Health Library (VHL), in the databases LILACS (Latin American Literature in Health Science), SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and Academic Google.
