espanolEl objetivo de esta investigacion fue determinar el efecto de un programa de valores sobre la autoestima en estudiantes de Educacion Primaria. La misma fue fundamentada en las teorias de Santamaria (2007), Navarro, Tomas y Oliver, (2006), Raffini (2008), entre otros. La investigacion fue de tipo experimental explicativo de campo, con un diseno preexperimental. La poblacion estuvo constituida por 30 estudiantes cursantes del sexto (6to) grado de Educacion Primaria de la Escuela Basica Nacional “Jose Angel Huerta”, ubicada en la jurisdiccion del Municipio Mara del estado Zulia, para el muestreo se considero el censo poblacional. La recoleccion de los datos se obtuvo a traves de un cuestionario de preguntas dicotomicas, el cual fue validado por tres expertos y la confiabilidad por el indice Kunder Richardson (KR-20), cuyo resultado fue de 0,90. La estadistica descriptiva fue la utilizada mediante medidas de tendencia central y dispersion. Los resultados obtenidos determinaron que existe diferencias entre las medias de las puntuaciones del grupo unico antes y despues de la aplicacion del programa de valores el cual origino una autoestima normal en estudiantes de Educacion Primaria, diferencia que puede atribuirse al efecto del programa, en tal sentido, se acepta la hipotesis de investigacion, si Si se aplica un programa de valores en estudiantes de Educacion Primaria, entonces, su autoestima aumentara en la Escuela Basica Nacional “Jose Angel Huerta”, ubicada en la jurisdiccion del Municipio Mara del estado Zulia. EnglishThe aim of this research was to determine the effect of a value program on self-esteem in primary school students. The same was based on the theories of Santamaria (2007), Navarro, Tomas and Oliver, (2006), Raffini (2008), among others. The research was experimental type explanatory field, with a preexperimental design. The population was constituted by 30 students enrolled in the 6th grade of Primary Education of the National Basic School Jose Angel Huerta, located in the jurisdiction of Mara Municipality of Zulia state, for the sampling was considered the population census. The data collection was obtained through a questionnaire of dichotomous questions, which was validated by three experts and the reliability by the Kunder Richardson index (KR-20), whose result was 0.90. The descriptive statistics was the one used by measures of central tendency and dispersion. The results obtained determined that there are differences between the means of the scores of the single group before and after the application of the values program, which originated a normal self-esteem in Primary Education students, a difference that can be attributed to the effect of the program in that sense , If the research hypothesis is accepted, if If a value program is applied in students of Primary Education, then, their self-esteem will increase in the National Basic School Jose Angel Huerta, located in the jurisdiction of the Mara Municipality of Zulia state
