The objective of the present study was to analyze prepartum depression in adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age and to identify the main reasons that lead adolescents to a pregnancy depression and to develop prevention and care measures to reduce cases of depression prepartum. The phase of adolescence is marked by great psychological, social, physical and sexual changes this phase is indicated by the transition from childhood adulthood. The vast majority of these adolescents end up starting the sexual life very early, even before they reach social, emotional and economic maturity. Adolescent pregnancy has become a public health problem, in which it ends up hindering the future career of the adolescent mother. This is a literature review. Data collection was performed through access to SCIELO, and MEDLINE databases. The collection was carried out in September to October of 2018.
