The concept of jus post bellum has been proposed to designate the normative framework for the transition from armed conflict to sustainable peace, reflecting the growing influence of international law on transitional processes. However, conceived under the just war tradition, the concept faces multiple challenges for its configuration as a legal notion. Then, the article offers an introduction to the jus post bellum from the legal literature leading this debate, discussing the main aspects of its scope, content and perspectives for its development under international law.
