This study presents an evaluation of the atmospheric concentrations of particulate matter of 10 micrometers (PM10) and 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5) monitored in four points of the urban area of the municipality of Vijes during the months of May, June and July 2019. Based on this, the dynamics of dispersion were analyzed considering the meteorological of the area under study and its relation with sources of contamination near the monitoring points was established. The instruments used in the measurements were Shinyei optical sensors previously calibrated against DAGMA equipment, Davis Vantage weather station and corresponding software. The results showed that the concentration averages of PM10 and PM2.5 are below the maximum permissible value according to Resolution 601/2006 (47,87 μg3 & 4.086 μg3, respectively) which can be attributed to the strong dissolving winds the concentrations and lower the density of the particles in suspension.
