Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM1) is one of the most common chronic childhood diseases. However, large number of adult patients live with this condition. Insulin treatment is a cornerstone the therapy. It is also important to promote a healthy lifestyle and achieve adherence to treatment. We present the case of a 29-year-old woman with 15 years of DM1. We describe the medical management and follow up of the last 5 years. Multiple factors intervene to achieve good glycemic control. New technologies, such as control glucose monitoring (CGM), have become important. However, adherence to treatment and family support were particularly important for patient control.
