Productive diversification is a choice for the Latin American countries as an alternative to the risk posed by the exportable production of commodities and in the Peruvian case, particularly, the minerals. For this reason, there is an intense competition internationally between countries and companies to attract buyers and investors, which also moves the countries to change their production matrix. Therefore, the economic politics must be developed in this direction. The proposal of productive diversification has been implemented in other countries deemed as developed and can be taken as an example. The objectives herein consist in identifying the influence of commodities in the Peruvian economy, knowing the relationship between diversification and competitiveness, and proposing activities to strengthen the agriculture in the road to diversification. To carry out this work, different books, research, and articles were reviewed and some experts on this topic were interviewed
