The appearance of the sars-cov-2 virus in the province of Hubei, China, has led the international community to a new security crisis that highlights the importance of reconceptualizing traditional international security towards a vision that contemplates human security as one of the main spheres to be protected by the State, as well as the strengthening of international cooperation mechanisms to combat new transnational threats. In this case, infectious diseases, with covid-19 being the most serious pandemic phenomenon so far in the 21st century.
