Technological advances in different fields of knowledge and the immersion of information and communications technologies (ICT) in all human activities, mark the concept of a new era, in which industries combine both physical, digital and biological capacities, towards the creation of value, in what is called Industry 4.0 or Fourth Industrial Revolution (4RI). The agricultural sector is no stranger to these major changes that direct its actions in the short, medium and long term, so researchers, public policy makers and private companies have generated key knowledge around Agriculture 4.0. The incorporation of 4RI technology in the agricultural sector implies understanding how they can contribute and generate synergies with traditional knowledge to face the challenges that from research, technological development and innovation activities are considered a priority. This leads to the need to understand the dynamics of scientific and technological knowledge, through technological surveillance with a scientometric approach. This research identifies the trends, technologies and key challenges for the development ofAgriculture 4.0, in the advent of Revolution 5.0 "a human revolution".
