Summary: Objective. This article is born from the research carried out by the Family Research Group of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and its research hotbed, which sought to inquire about the characteristics, dynamics and perspectives of the DINK couples (Double Income, No Kids) that are they constitute under this modality in the city of Medellin (Colombia). Methodology. The research was developed under the qualitative approach and the information was obtained through semi-structured interviews. Results and conclusion. Below are some results that emerged in the consumption category, among which healthy selfishness is highlighted as a practice through which those who make up these couples seek their integral well-being, as well as their preference for using free time to enjoying novel and enjoyable activities. The Dinks manifest important dynamics for the use of money, which are mediated by hedonism, influenced by individualism and facilitated by their high purchasing power.
