The present study aimed to understand the dynamics of violence against the elderly in the family and, more specifically, to analyze an intervention that will contribute to minimize this evil that plagues the majority of elderly people who live with their families. To this end, a psychoeducational intervention was carried out with the aggressors (children, daughters-inlaw, nephews), in the Special Criminal Court for the Elderly and in the Domestic and Family Violence Court against Women in Recife / Pe.The results were analyzed according to the thematic content analysis technique. These results, analysis and discussion, showed evidence of the aggressors to redefine the action of violence against their elderly relative, in the sense of understanding that, despite the majority of them, having suffered aggression on the part of this person who is today elderly, the elderly person at this stage of life is more fragile and vulnerable in all aspects (biopsychosocial), and they need the support, reception and understanding of the youngest, especially family members, including the aggressors.Beyond this reflection, it is important to think that nothing justifies violence. For this act leads many elderly people to suffer from serious mental and physical health, when it does not culminate in death.
