The present work studies the elaboration and evolution of the discourse of Development as an instrument of power for the achievement of liberal global hegemony, placing special analytical emphasis on the way in which the environment, environmental conservation and the Sustainable Development Goals as a last resort have contributed to it, being initially seen as instruments of development to later become accomplices that do not modify in any way its essence.
