Abstract:

Fifty nine wild birds from a zoo were studied under serological and bacterlological examination In order to know the prevalence of Salmonella sp. Blood samples were confronted with a non motile Salmonella pullorum-galllnarum antigen and four motile antigens, prepared during the present study for Salmonella enteritidis ser Agona, Salmonella enteritidis ser enteritidis, Salmonella enterltldls ser Manhattan and Salmonella enterltldls Group E, strains containing antigenic factors (4,5; 1,9,12; 6,8; 3,10) and frecuently Isolated In the field. Bacteriological examination were made from cloacal swabs, according with the C.D.C. of Atlanta. All the fifty nine birds were negatives for Salmonella sp. with the test conducted
