Aquatic bryophytes are a conspicuous component of the vegetation of high tropical mountain rivers. However, only six studies address the taxonomy and ecology of these plants in Colombia. This work aims to know the richness of bryophytes species that grow in the Teatinos River and provide information about their growth forms, substrate, abundance, habitat, and altitude for each of the species. Twelve sampling points were located every 100 m altitude, where bryophyte species that grow on soil and rock were collected. A commented checklist of aquatic bryophytes in the Teatinos River is presented trough a record of 70 species, organized by alphabetical order of families, genera, and species in each group (mosses, liverworts and hornworts).
