This article presents the estimation of unit costs of investment in electrical equipment, destined to the Colombian National Transmission System (STN), useful information for the remuneration of the activity of transport of electric energy in Colombia, as well as reference costs for possible tenders in energy projects It is based on the processing and selection of large volumes of information offered by the customs authorities, subsequently, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, such as KMeans and least squares regression are applied to determine the costs of common equipment in substations, such as surge arresters (DPS), current transformers, among others. Finally, equipment costs are estimated and presented by voltage level (230kV and 500kV) or power (MVA), as the case may be.
