An improvement was made to the blasting system that is carried out within the facilities of the Carbonapoles mine, located in the municipality of Samacá Boyacá. Under the foundations and method of Calvin J. Konya, key parameters of underground blasting were estimated, such as burden, spacing, stemming and rigidity index; simultaneously applying geological correction of the behavior and structure of the rocky massif to some of these. Other parameters involved in this blasting system are the density of the explosive and the diameter of the borehole. The previous criteria allows for the standardization of blasting techniques and to change the empirical methods of the miner in charge of handling explosives in this line of work.
