This document aims to model unitary operations as a bilinear structure, which allows the development of control systems for this kind of systems. Also, it will give an idea of the utility of these models in the development of controllers for mass and heat transfer operations. We analyze two unitary operations. Mass and energy balances are proposed and it is possible to identify a bilinear structure. As a result, it is possible to evaluate control systems that take into account such property. A Bilinear Model Predictive Control (BMPC) is implemented obtaining good performance.
