The Universidad del Rosario joined the cycle of bicentennial commemorations that began in 2010 with a strong editorial program. Initially, it published the book Historia que no cesa: la independencia de Colombia [History that does not end: The independence of Colombia], dedicated to the analysis of events and circumstances that led to the rupture between the Viceroyalty of the New Kingdom of Granada and Spain. Then, in 2016, it released the work entitled 1816: El terror y la sangre sublime [1816: Terror and sublime blood], which is concerned with the study and explanation of the misnamed “Patria Boba” [“Silly Homeland”] and the Spanish military reconquest. The book presented now to the public is about The Republic, an entity that was born in 1819 and extends until 1880, in the preambles to the Regeneration.
